Georgia Laws Leave Sex Offenders Few Options
Carrie Williams
Cobb County, GA-- Georgia is known for having one of the most strict sexual offender laws in the nation. According to Georgia law, the state’s 16,000 sex offenders are banned from living, working or loitering within 1,000 feet of schools, churches, child-care facilities and other areas where children gather. As a result, sex offenders find themselves with limited areas to reside which comply with the law; pushing them to seek shelter in alternative places, like the woods.
Last week, 9 sex offenders living in make-shift campsites on the property of the Georgia Department of Transportation were identified by Georgia Police officials who forced the individuals to pack-up camp and find somewhere else to go.

Rocky Top Toppled
For the fifth straight time in the series the Auburn Tigers football team upended the Tennessee Volunteers. This time by a score of 26-22. It was the first road test for the Tigers of the season, and the first strong defense the Gus Malzahn offensive machine had faced. The Tigers marched right though it, however racking up more than 400 yards of offense, 100 more yards than the Volunteers had given up to any previous opponent. It appeared that the third largest crowd in Auburn football history was going to be a factor for the Tigers as they were held out of the end zone for a quarter and half, but the Tigers soon found their rhythm as they wore down the vaunted Vol defense as the game wore on.
