Tiger Cup 2009

This weekend, the Auburn Cricket Club hosted the Tiger Cup. This event was the club's first tournament and featured cricket teams from around the Southeast. The club has been trying to form a club for the past two years, and this year the club has over 100 members. The Club has been quite successful this year winning several regional cricket matches. This weekend, the Club competed against clubs from schools like Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State. The Auburn Cricket Club won their own tournament this weekend and hopes to continue to build on their success.

Congrats to the Auburn cricket club on winning the tournament. They have been consistently winning tournaments in the south-east over the past few years and I hope that this helps increase the game's popularity in Auburn.

Cricket gets considerable funding in schools out west and in the north-east and hopefully these wins will help garner a good amount of funds to purchase better equipment, facilitate better grounds and host larger tournaments at Auburn.
