Country Crossing: One Week Later

One Week after Country Crossing closed its doors to avoid a raid by Governor Riley's Task Force, the employees began filing for unemployment. Many of the employees were jobless before Country Crossing opened, and now they are facing unemployment again. They gathered outside of the padlocked doors on Saturday to share their stories in hopes that Alabama's government will take action so they can go back to work.
Country Crossing is a family-oriented entertainment venue located just outside of Dothan, Alabama. It is slated to be a five-year project with many more attractions planned to join the current bingo hall, restaurants, and amphitheater. One of the next projects includes go-carts and an arcade.
Recently, Representative Marcel Black has introduced Bill 154 that will allow Alabama voters to decide whether or not to legalize the Bingo games that are at the center of the controversy. The vote would take place during the November 2nd general election. For employees of Country Crossing, who want to return to work now, November 2nd is too far away.
