Auburn Hosts the Alabama Germany Partnership's Annual Dinner and Business Forum

Auburn, Ala. - Auburn will host the AlabamaGermany Partnership's (AGP) 12th Annual Dinner and Business Forum. Wednesday, February 17, 2010, with over 250 guests expected from throughout the state, including Alabama Governor Bob Riley, Representative Mike Hubbard and Auburn Mayor Bill Ham. The dinner will be followed on Thursday by the AGP's Business Forum from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The AlabamaGermany Partnership is an organization dedicated to fostering the cooperative relationship between the business communities in the State of Alabama and Germany. According to the AlabamaGermany Partnership, German companies employ an estimated 12,000 Alabamians directly.

The program will include a recognition of Governor Riley for his contributions to the cause of the German-Alabama Business Community. It will also recognize German companies in Alabama that have had recent investments and expansions, even during recent economic uncertainty.

Auburn Mayor Bill Ham commented "I'm proud that two of the successful companies being recognized, Straehle + Hess USA Inc. and Hoerbiger Automotive Comfort Systems Inc., are located in Auburn. Auburn's economy has remained relatively strong during this recession, and the diversity of companies that are a part of the Auburn family, from local small business to international companies, have been an important part of our success."

On-site registration for the Business Forum will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center, 241 South College Street, Auburn, Alabama 36830.
