Knology breaks ground in Auburn
A major cable provider is preparing to expand its services to Auburn residents. Knology, Inc. held a ground breaking ceremony and press conference on Thursday, April 1st in the Tutton Hills subdivision on Hamilton Road in Auburn. The Auburn Chamber of Commerce hosted the event. Knology shared its vision for providing quality service to the citizens of Auburn. “You have to hold yourself accountable for customer service goals and that’s what makes the Knology customer experience something that we can be proud of,” said Royce Ard, General Manager, Knology.
The Auburn City Council, at its November 3, 2009 regular meeting, approved a non-exclusive cable franchise agreement that allows Knology to provide cable, telephone, and internet services to Auburn residents. “Auburn citizens have made it increasingly clear that they want choice, and we’re proud to play a role in bringing the choice they’ve been asking for,” Mayor Bill Ham said. The City of Auburn requires cable providers to obtain a franchise to operate within city limits, as allowed by Federal law. Knology plans to start the design-phase of its expansion on April 5th in preparation for construction. According to the cable provider, residents who live in the Moore's Mill Road area will be the first to receive Knology services as early as August, 2010.
