For the fifth straight time in the series the Auburn Tigers football team upended the Tennessee Volunteers. This time by a score of 26-22. It was the first road test for the Tigers of the season, and the first strong defense the Gus Malzahn offensive machine had faced. The Tigers marched right though it, however racking up more than 400 yards of offense, 100 more yards than the Volunteers had given up to any previous opponent. It appeared that the third largest crowd in Auburn football history was going to be a factor for the Tigers as they were held out of the end zone for a quarter and half, but the Tigers soon found their rhythm as they wore down the vaunted Vol defense as the game wore on. It's not all good news for the Tigers, however, as they surrendered over 400 yards to the anemic Tennessee offense. The Tigers must improve on defense if they expect to make a push for the SEC west division championship. However, Saturday night did prove that this Auburn offense is dangerous no matter who or where they are playing.
