AU Rhythm wins "Bounce" dance competition Friday night in Tuskegee, AL

This past Friday night, AU Rhythm beat out 8 other teams, including the University of Alabama, from around the country for first place and a grand prize of $1000. We as a team have been preparing for this competition for a little over a month now. We have had practice almost every night in high hopes that we would dominate the competition. It was AU Rhythm's first ever competitive competition, so it was a really big deal for everyone. We didn't really know what to expect, but we knew the competition we faced from the other dance teams was going to be very high. Every single team was incredibly talented, and it was an amazing experience to not only perform, but to see what other teams from around the country had been preparing for in their routines as well. There was so much diversity in dancing between each routine, so the competition as a whole was very entertaining. As we were standing there on the dance floor, waiting for them to announce 1st. 2nd and 3rd place, everyone's anxiety levels were extremely high. Each team gathered together holding hands praying for their name to get called as 1st place. When they announced AU Rhythm as the winning team, we all started screaming and jumping up and down; we could not contain our excitement. All of our hard work and long practices had paid off and we were so proud of ourselves and each other. All in all, it was an experience to remember and AU Rhythm made history here at Auburn by winning our first competitive competition! :)
