Miracles of Music

Miss Auburn University, Rebecca Hart, organized a concert benefiting Children's Miracle Network while promoting music in the Auburn community. The money raised from tickets will go to Columbus Regional Hospital, which is part of Children's Miracle Network. Rebecca performed alongside other Auburn students, and took time during the concert to talk about her platform, Music Matters. Her platform emphasizes the importance of music education in schools. Rebecca will be competing in Miss Alabama this Summer, while continuing to represent Auburn University.

Eufaula Pilgrimage

The Forty-Fifth Annual Eufaula Pilgrimage took place this weekend, drawing in tourists from all over the country. All proceeds of the home and garden tours go directly to the Eufaula Heritage Association, an organization founded to preserve historical homes in Eufaula. The weekend also included an art show, ghost walk, concerts, "Tales from the Tomb," picnics, book signings, and a Civil War encampment. Countless volunteers make the Pilgrimage a success each year, and many of the women and girls dress up in antebellum dresses. There is also a Pilgrimage Pageant held in advance to crown a queen and two princesses to be official hostesses for the event. Go Fly a Kite Day

Last Friday, Auburn students got a chance to be kids again. WEGL 91.1 FM sponsored "Go Fly a Kite Day" on Cater Lawn. They provided kites, frisbees, sunglasses, waterguns, bubbles, caprisuns, and pop ice. The event lasted from 11-2, and WEGL DJs encouraged students who were passing by to stop and fly a kite in between classes. It was a beautiful, breezy Spring day perfect for flying kites and hanging out with friends.

The Ultimate Marine Corps Challenge

At 5 a.m. when most college student's are still asleep or just getting in for the night, the Auburn University Marine Corps are pushing their way through morning training.

After running 4.5 miles with more than 10 pounds of gear, jumping over walls, crawling through mud pits and pulling up sky-high ropes, it's hard to imaging how the AU Marine's are able to make it to class...and stay awake.

Eagle Eye reporter, Carrie Williams, joins the Marines for their 5 a.m. training and get's put to the test in the Ultimate Marine Corps Challenge. Watch here for the full story.

Knology breaks ground in Auburn

A major cable provider is preparing to expand its services to Auburn residents. Knology, Inc. held a ground breaking ceremony and press conference on Thursday, April 1st in the Tutton Hills subdivision on Hamilton Road in Auburn. The Auburn Chamber of Commerce hosted the event. Knology shared its vision for providing quality service to the citizens of Auburn. “You have to hold yourself accountable for customer service goals and that’s what makes the Knology customer experience something that we can be proud of,” said Royce Ard, General Manager, Knology.

Just Run 5k Race

There will be a 5K run on April 18 at 3pm benefiting the Just Run organization, a charity that helps prevent childhood obesity. The race is part of Former Miss Auburn, Ann Houk's platform. The event will start at the Green Space next to the AU Student Center and then wind through campus. She joined us in studio to tell us more about the event. Will Graham, grandson of Billy Graham, came to Auburn to spread his message of faith and hope along with Musical Guests such as Skillet, Toby Mac, Decemberadio, Mathew West and Trip Lee.
