Fire Breaks out on Campus

A car fire broke out in front of the Lowder Business Building today around 11:30a. Eagle Eye got exclusive video of the fire being put out. Auburn Fire Department Officials tell us they were lucky to keep the fire from spreading. Click the image to watch the video.

On-Campus Parking

The first month back to school presents Auburn students with the
never-ending parking headache once again. And with the construction of
the new Village dorms, finding a parking space in the C-Zone lot is next
to impossible. Eagle Eye take's a look at the parking situation on
campus, and meets with Auburn University's Bob Ritenbaugh, Assistant
V.P. of Auxiliary Services, to answer the questions on every students'
mind, "Will on-campus parking ever get better?"

Toomer's Ten Bus Service

Auburn University now offers students a free nightline bus service from the bars downtown to most off campus locations. The buses will be transporting students from the library, residence halls, Toomer's corner, dining facilities, off campus residences, and everywhere in between during these hours. These buses will be leaving the Toomer's corner stop (main hub) every 30 mins. beginning with the first run at 10:00 PM and ending with the last run leaving Toomer's at 2:30 AM.

Parking on campus has been a major headache during the first week of School. Bob Rightenbaugh, Assistant Vice Presidentof Auxiliary Services, admits there is a problem and tells us a solution is about a year away.

Cash for clunkers ended on Monday. Local dealers tell us the government plan helped them sell a lot of new cars. For more on the local impact watch our show next week.

Auburn Arena Update

The new Auburn Arena is more than halfway done. Auburn University Facilities Division tells Eagle Eye News that they expect the project to be completed on schedule and ready for the 2010 - 2011 basketball and gymnastics season. The new facility offers many enhancements over Beard-Eaves including enhanced training facilities, locker rooms, scholarship lounges, and suites. The new arena is also designed to give all the fans a great view of the action.
