TOP STORY OF THE WEEK WAS THE MENS BASKETBALL TEAM HIRING TONY BARBEE OF UTEP TO BE THE NEW HEAD COACH. BARBEE COACHED THE MINERS FOR FOUR SEASONS AND LED THEM TO THE BEST RECORD IN CONFERENCE USA AT 15-1. IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO REACH THE CONFERENCE TITLE GAME AND A SPOT IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT AS THE NO. 12 SEED WHERE THEY THEN FELL TO NO. 5 SEED BUTLER IN THE FIRST ROUND. AUBURN WILL LOOK FOR BARBEE TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF WINS PER SEASON AND BOOST RECRUITING, BOTH OF WHICH HE HAS SHOWN HE CAN DO DURING HIS CAREER.
